If you are looking for a rental for your extended family So Much Good is an option to consider. In the charming Crystal Beach Cottages area, this Destin rental is situated just a few houses from the beach.
It sleeps 17, has four baths with a separate pool house! And yes, it does have an in ground heated pool. It also offers a ping pong table, small putt-putt area and plenty of seating spaces both indoor and outside to accommodate everyone comfortably.

Much like properties that are through an agency, this rental didn’t offer many “extras”, so be prepared to bring your own beach towels, sand toys and pool toys. Our travels have taught us that rentals through an agency typical lack those extras that make a house a home, while renting a property managed by its owner typically include amenities making the house a bit more livable.
We were able to get the best deal going through the agency directly including an additional 5% off! Check out my Booking Tips for the ways we stay within budget while traveling.
With our family virtual schooling and working from home, we needed a space to spread out, and this rental offered each of us our own workspace. I used the pool house as my workout studio, my husband used the third floor for his workspace and each of my kids took a bedroom on a separate floor for their school space. It was so nice to spread out after being in this work from home, virtual school setting for almost a year!

The community itself is charming. Most houses have white picket fences and freshly landscaped yards. The neighborhood is also dog friendly, aside from the beaches. You will see dogs out walking Scenic Highway 98 and several of the locals offer dog treats for the pooches.

The main drag offers miles upon miles of paved walking paths on the Scenic Highway 98 Trail. My husband enjoyed long runs on the trail while others walked their dogs, rode bikes, and even rode longboards.
Henderson State Park is also walking distance from So Much Good. Situated along the coast, it offers a beach, playground, as well as a sand dune hiking trail which we enjoyed. It’s well worth the small admission fee to enjoy and preserve the beach. So if your in the Destin area, be sure to check it out.
Also nearby is Destin Commons, a large outside mall. The complex offers delicious dinning and upscale designer shops. While we didn’t do any shopping, we did order take away from several of the restaurants in the area. There is also a Whole Foods in the same area which was our grocery of choice during our stay.
We ate at several local restaurants over our three-week stay, but there are only two that have earned my top-notch stamp of approval.
First is Camille’s at Crystal Beach. From their delicious homemade cinnamon rolls to their savory avocado toast, we enjoyed walking down and snagging brunch. In fact, we made more trips than I would like to admit to. They are also open for cocktails during happy hour and even have live music from time to time, including Sunday Brunch.
For dinner try Zoe’s Kitchen. Known for its fresh made Mediterranean, they also earned my kudos. As just a small chain of 250 restaurants, we had not yet heard nor enjoyed the fresh, natural ingredients Zoe’s offers. We ordered several times and enjoyed everything we ordered. We preferred the family sized meals as the perfect Sunday night supper for the family.
The quality of the beach in this area makes it a natural choice for many. With emerald water color that mimics the Caribbean, and white sand made from ground quartz, it’s a beautiful beach! There are also sandbars for one to discover.

Being able to watch both the sunrise and sunset over the emerald water is definitely a perk of the beaches in this area. We caught as many sunrises and sunsets as we could over our stay. No two are ever the same and each offer a glimpse of celestial beauty.

We enjoyed our three weeks at So Much Good in the Destin, Florida area so much that we attempted to extend our stay. The property is very popular and it is currently offering limited availability. If you are interested in this rental, I would recommend planning in advance or being flexible on your dates and willing to rent what dates are not already claimed. From Camille’s at Crystal Beach to the miles of emerald beaches or paved walkways, this whimsical community of Destin is an area I highly recommend traveling to.
