If you’re new around here, here is a quick tidbit: my husband and I love the Caribbean! He has been scuba diving since he was 12 and I’m a mermaid at heart – so it’s natural that are souls feel grounded near the sea.
We make it a point to intentionally travel together, just the two of us, as often as we can. Our love of the sea draws us to sneak away to the Caribbean whenever we can and have a goal to go at least once every two years. I blame this goal on an incredible experience at Sandals South Coast in Jamaica.
We had our first Sandals experience in January of 2018 and rebooked for January of 2020. While we were in Jamaica in January of 2020, we decided to visit Sandals Regency La Toc in Saint Lucia the following September for our ten-year anniversary.
Little did we know in January that our September trip would entail a few hoops to jump through due to the COVID pandemic. We were able to successfully navigate all requirements, which were well worth the week of relaxation and sunshine. If you want to read about our COVID international travel experience check out this blog post.
Honeymooners who dream of that perfect five-star resort, couples looking to rekindle that spark, or those celebrating an anniversary need to look no further than La Toc!
Notorious for its coral bluffs that provide miles of coastal views, a lush hillside and crescent shaped beach with crashing waves, La Toc truly lives up to its reputation for scenic beauty. We found this resort as the perfect place to celebrate our ten-year anniversary.
In this post I am excited to share the top ten reasons you should visit Sandals Regency La Toc.

10. Relaxing hammocks with coastal views. Actually, there are so many relaxing areas with a view of the Caribbean. From a giant-sized chess board to a quiet pool, there are numerous areas to relax in a tranquil area while taking in the views. The quiet pool was my favorite on this trip, but the main pool also offers a large stretch of pool side chairs to lounge on while gazing over the horizon.

9. Pristine emerald water color of Saint Lucia with that Caribbean feel, La Toc lives up to its nickname “Emerald of the Caribbean”. All Caribbean locations boast of blue water, but few can live up to the clarity of Saint Lucia, particularly off the bluffs of La Toc. The rock formations keep the shallow water free of runoff, and the shore plunges from six to 6,000 feet just a few miles offshore. The positioning of the resort ensures the water offshore will be picturesque every time to get a glance of the sea.

8. Golfer’s delight! La Toc offers free green fees at the nine-hole resort course and free green fees with transfers to Sandals championship 18-hole course. Golf game not up to par? Take advantage of complimentary clinics twice a week! While my husband and I are not golfers, we did take advantage of a walking path around the greens to watch the sunrise over the mountains.

7. Diverse restaurant offerings that are fully included. Hibachi with a view, eggs benedict for a poolside breakfast, Italian Armando’s where the chef might check in to ensure everything is to your liking. You will want at least 7 nights to ensure you can try all the gourmet options in the nine restaurants!

6. While all Sandals offer complimentary activities like kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkeling Saint Lucia offers some of the best diving in the Caribbean. The dive center is not located on site, but a 15-minute shuttle takes you to the aquatic center for diving and snorkeling. Although visibility is sometimes nearly unlimited, a nearby tropical storm stirred up the silt, which limited visibility to 50-75 ft on our trip. Even with the tropical storm nearby, the snorkeling was a highlight of our vacation.
5. Accommodating room categories to select from: 22 different categories. From the Millionaire Suites on the bluffs that come with jaw dropping 180-degree views and a personal infinity pool to the Emerald Beachfront Junior Suite with Soaking Tub; there is a room with the perfect features and views for you.

4. Couples’ massage in a covered cabana overlooking the sand and sea. Although this isn’t included in the all-inclusive, this is an experience to indulge in. There is nothing better than listening to the sound of the waves while receiving a relaxing full body massage. I highly recommend this as part of your vacation. Just make sure to budget for it ahead of time. Prices ran $500, and make sure to tip your masseuse!

3. Ten-minute helicopter transfer from the airport to the resort. Skip the two-hour bus ride through the banana trees of the St Lucia jungle and allow St Lucia Helicopters to get you to the La Toc in style. You can be sipping on a beverage after getting all checked into your room before others on your flight are even at the resort! The ride also gives you a great view of the island. You fly directly through the mountainous jungle and get a great view of the resort from the air.
2. The rolling waves at La Toc make you feel like a kid again. But beware, those waves will take your sunglasses, so leave those on the shore when you’re splashing in the surf. The beach itself is a crescent shape nestled in between two bluffs. While not the longest beach in the Caribbean, it does well enough if you want to stroll oceanside with your partner.
1. Without a doubt the best sunset views can be found on the bluffs of La Toc. With fragrant foliage that overlooks the Caribbean cliffside this is the picture-perfect setting to capture that Instagram image. No filter needed! The elevation from the bluffs give you the perfect vantage point to watch the closest star slip beneath the distant horizon, as the blue sky radiates into a burnt orange and quickly fades into a deep purple before night falls. The setting sun is always a beautiful and majestic experience, but the views from the bluffs at La Toc are what I envision a sun set in heaven looking like. The sunsets alone make the trip worth taking!
With 15 Sandals Resorts, each will offer slightly different features. And while I am excited to experience Sandals Antigua this fall, I put my stamp of approval on La Toc in St Lucia because of my top ten reasons.
